Read the Scriptures

1. Read the Command

Mark 1:15
“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”

2. Read the Story

Acts 2:36-41
“Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.” Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ…”

3. Re-tell the Story

Retell the story in your own words, keeping it as simple as possible, focusing on highlighting the main points of the lesson.

4. Discuss

• What does this passage show us about God? (who He is and what He does)
• What does this passage show us about people? (who we are and what we do)

Obey

Ask Jesus how He wants you to put what you’ve learned into practice this week.

Abide

Ask Jesus how He wants you to engage with Him this week.
(spiritual disciplines: prayer, Bible reading, etc.)

Train

Ask Jesus who you could train in what you are learning this week.

Share

Ask Jesus who you could share the gospel with this week.

Pray

Ask Jesus to give you the power to walk this out!

Go Deeper

The gospel that Jesus and the apostles preached wasn’t just a bunch of information to be understood and “believed” mentally. It was a radical call to start a new life with Jesus as Savior and King. Because of this, the apostles didn’t just invite people to pray a certain prayer or “ask Jesus into their hearts.” What did they call people to do in response to believing the gospel, and why did they call them to do it?
